Mute Math
Mute Math are currently touring with Grey's Anatomy loves The Fray which should do them good and get their name out there to promote their debut CD. I believe I got my hands on these guys early last year. Which would make sense since it did come out in 2006.
Their self-titled debut is refreshing, it's not so much different from what you've heard. It's more the variety on the album, that's refreshing. The band says to be influenced from the beautiful ambiance and obscurity that is Bjork to the mixing-stlyings of various DJs. They say to blame their style on the past forty years of music, and yes, that means the classic Sting of The Police. Though this band might not be the people you'll listen to nonstop on repeat, they are worth checking out. Either at a show or pick up their cd. They'll make you want to dance to Noticed, sway to Without You, and just bask in the beauty that is music while listening to Obsolete. This song is my favorite off this album, it's calming and it's the four members just playing.

Now, opinions on this band seem to differ. I can't say that I've listened to much of them. But they have definitely caught my interest. They have a bit of a folky-air about them, it's innocent. They're one of those bands that just kinda make you happy inside... At least that's what the song Weekends Away makes me feel. Dropping their debut full length album just last October the band is just that cute. They draw inspiration from Belle and Sebastian and The Lucksmiths. Singing songs about bikes, holding hands, and Marshmallow worlds. All is loves.

Now you see, I was going to do a post about I Love Math. However, I'm slightly confused. There seems to be two bands, I Love Math with the Sine Waves song AND The I Love Math that I was thinking of. However, the first has some pretty awesome puns, and both are entirely different. FACTORIAL.

I thoroughly enjoyed all the math puns. Especially the "!" and the actualy title... it fits your post perfectly. Hopefully you know who this is... BOOMBLICKA!
